Why does privacy matter? If you have nothing to hide, why should you want to keep secrets? Is personal data (sigh) the “new oil”? As businesses move into a new maturity phase in their engagement with data protection post-GDPR, these are the sorts of large, difficult, philosophical questions that they are having to grapple with.
